Overview · starts Page, 7:00 am

Antelope Canyon is on Navajo Nation land and can only be entered with an authorized Navajo tour operator. We book your entry with our partner operator for the midday slot, when light falls straight down into Upper Antelope, and the early slot for Lower Antelope, when the walls glow orange.

Between the canyons we walk out to Horseshoe Bend for sunset and spend a quiet evening in Page. The walking is short and flat — the challenge is not running out of memory card.

Itinerary

Hour by hour.

  1. We time the entry for the light beams. Your Navajo guide tosses a little sand so the beam shows on camera.

  2. The Colorado River makes a full U-turn 1,000 ft below the rim. Dinner in Page afterwards.

  3. Narrower, deeper and more sculpted. Back in Page by 11 am.
