Overview · starts Moab, 7:00 am

Monument Valley is a Navajo Tribal Park, and its backcountry may only be visited with a licensed Navajo guide. Our partner guide leads the valley day and tells the story of the place from the inside; we handle everything around it.

The route links Canyonlands, the Valley of the Gods and Monument Valley, with a night on a canyon rim and a night in a hogan. It is our longest trip and the one guests most often repeat.

Itinerary

Hour by hour.

  1. Mesa Arch and Grand View Point, then south to camp.

  2. A quieter version of Monument Valley, with no one else on the road.

  3. Arches and petroglyphs closed to self-drive visitors. Night in a traditional hogan.

  4. Sunrise over the Mittens, breakfast, and the long scenic drive north.
