Move the light
The X1. Four motors, one carbon tub, ninety-nine cars. Built in the dark, finished in light.
(01) — The idea
No engine.No noise.No equal.
We started with a question nobody in Turin wanted to ask: what if the most emotional car of the decade made no sound at all?
Four axial-flux motors, one at each wheel.
Structural pack, part of the carbon tub.
Lighter than most petrol hypercars.
WLTP. Or eleven hot laps of the Nordschleife.

Your light,your X1.
Pick a paint, wheels, cabin and pack. Price, launch time and downforce follow.

(04) — In the light
Every lineis a lamp.

Seventeen light elements, one line of code each. The X1 can say hello, goodbye and 'charging' without a single word.
(05) — After dark
Lights down.Doors up.
A day in Turin with the design team. Paint swatches under daylight, sodium and LED.

Pre-preg carbon, cured for nine hours. The battery is bonded in — it carries load like the floor of a building.

The car wakes for the first time. Every lamp is calibrated by hand in a black room.

Handover on the rooftop test track. Your number, your colour, your first launch.

“The first launch, I laughed. The second, I went quiet.”

Why 1,600 hp with no sound is the most frightening thing we have built — and how we taught drivers to trust it.
DesignLight as signature
A car you recognise at night from three hundred metres. The story of the two-line lamp and the red horizon at the rear.
Grand toursStelvio at dawn
