A thousand pairs is what one knitting machine and one foam mould can make properly in eight weeks. More would mean a second factory, and a second factory means a different shoe.

Holding a size costs nothing and takes a real email. On drop day each hold gets one link, valid for 30 minutes. If it expires, the pair goes to the next person in line.
