Three minutes at four degrees

Why we built a cold plunge fed by Lake Geneva, and how to survive your first one.

Cold water triggers a sharp rise in noradrenaline and dopamine that lasts for hours after you get out.

Over weeks, regular exposure improves insulin sensitivity and increases brown fat, which burns energy to make heat.

The first plunge is about breathing. Long, slow exhales stop the gasp reflex.

“The first ten seconds are a negotiation with your nervous system. Win it.”

We start new clients at 10 °C for one minute and work down to 4 °C for three.

Never plunge alone, never after alcohol, and talk to us first if you have a heart condition.

Afterwards, no hot shower. Let your body rewarm itself — that is where the benefit is.
