Your age is a number. Which one?

Your age is a number. Which one?

Chronological age counts birthdays. Biological age counts damage — and it can go down.

Your chronological age is the number of years since you were born. Your biological age is how old your cells behave.

We measure it with an epigenetic clock: a blood test that reads chemical marks on your DNA which accumulate with age, stress and illness.

In healthy people the two numbers are close. In many of our new clients, biological age is three to eight years older.

“The passport says 52. The blood says 38. We trust the blood.”

The good news: the marks are reversible. Sleep, fitness, nutrition and lower inflammation move the clock back.

After one year in our Longevity programme, the average client is 4.1 years younger biologically than when they started.

We retest every six months. It is the most motivating number in medicine.
