Two days on the site with you, a notebook and a compass. We draw where the sun rises and the wind comes from.
2 weeks
Card and timber models at 1:100, then 1:50. You hold the house before it exists.
6 weeks
Four hundred drawings: plans, sections, every joint and handle. Permits filed.
16 weeks
An architect on site every week. Local builders, our own site manager.
14–20 months
We furnish, light and plant the garden. You arrive to a finished home.
Day one(05) — Materials
Five materials.
One hero.
Local limestone and granite, quarried within 50 km whenever we can.
Warm, porous and cool underfoot. Honed, never polished.
European oak, oiled not varnished, so it greys with grace.
Board-marked or polished, left honest and unpainted.
Low-iron, triple-glazed, frameless where the view deserves it.
Used sparingly: one slab, one room, one story.

(06) — Where we build
Cliffs, pines and a sea that turns violet at dusk.
Old gardens, steep plots, the strictest planning in Europe.
Jungle, cenotes and salt air — we build for shade first.
Ochre cliffs and a light that does not need decoration.
Fog, wind and redwoods. The hardest site we have built on.
