At the baste fitting the jacket is held together with white thread. We pin, chalk and often pull it apart on you — it is the most important hour of the commission.
The forward fitting is nearly finished. We check the sleeves, the collar and the balance, the way the jacket falls front to back.
The final fitting is for small corrections and for the pleasure of putting it on. Most clients wear it out of the shop.
