What is sillage, exactly?
The French word for the wake of a boat — and for the trail a perfume leaves behind you.
Sillage is the wake a boat leaves on the water. In perfume, it is the trail you leave in a room after you have walked through it.
It depends on the materials — big molecules like ambers and musks travel far and stay long — but also on skin, heat and how you wear it.
Two sprays on the neck and one on the wrist is our rule. More than that and the room wears the perfume instead of you.
