03 — Works

Nine rooms,
and the colours
that made them.

Sixty-one finished since 2017; these are the ones worth arguing about. Every scheme below started with three colours and one rule about where they were allowed to go.

Bica Café

Café · 2025

Ninety square metres in Graça, painted a yellow that holds up under fluorescent light at seven in the morning and still looks warm at nine at night. Forty covers, one very long bench.

Mira Showroom

Shop · 2024

A furniture showroom where the walls had to disappear behind the stock — so we made them one deep green and let the products be the loud ones.

Sol Office

Workplace · 2024

Thirty desks and one rule: no meeting room without daylight. The colour sits on the furniture rather than the walls, so it can move when the team grows — which it did, twice, within a year.

Nata Bakery

2023

Cream and butter yellow, benches deep enough to sit sideways, a counter set by the owner's shoulders rather than a standard.

Colourful paint swatches displayed on a wall

Casa Tinta

2025

Palette only, for a hotel that already had an architect: three colours, eleven surfaces, painted at full size before a litre was bought.

A vibrant retail display in orange, green and purple
Fig. 06

Feira Store

2022

Sixty square metres, stock that changes weekly, and a display system that survives being rebuilt by whoever is on shift.

Amarelo Bar

Café · 2023

A wine bar the size of a living room. One colour on everything including the ceiling, so that the room reads as a single object once the lights go down.

A room with an orange armchair, a lamp and green plants

Estúdio Norte

Workplace · 2022

A studio for eight people in a flat that was never meant to hold them. Acoustic felt behind the colour, and a kitchen big enough that lunch happens there.

Vinil Record Shop

Shop · 2021

Our first project with no white wall anywhere in it. Crates at browsing height, listening corner by the window, and a ceiling dark enough that nobody looks up.

A wall painted in many colours
Every one of these was painted at full size before it was paid for.
