Twenty-four looks, one line

How the SS27 show was built around a single straight runway and one rule: no look may stop.

The runway for SS27 is forty metres long, straight and lit only from the edges. There is nowhere to hide and nowhere to pose.

We tested the light for three nights in an empty warehouse on Via Tortona: white bulbs every sixty centimetres, nothing from above. Faces stay in half shadow; the clothes catch everything.

Every model walks at the same pace, ninety steps a minute, and never stops at the end. The clothes have to work in motion or they do not make the show.

“Nobody poses. If the coat does not work in motion, it does not make the show.”

Seven looks were cut in the final week because they looked better standing still. One of them was the most expensive coat in the collection.

The music is a single piano chord, held and re-struck for eleven minutes. Every exit lands on the chord.

Twenty-four looks, eleven minutes. Then the lights go out, and the collection is in the stores the next morning.
