The silent hour
Our hybrid drive lets a 72-metre yacht cruise for an hour without a sound.
Every HALCYON from 60 metres has a battery bank big enough to run the whole yacht for eight hours at anchor without a generator.
Underway, the batteries move the yacht at 8 knots for an hour in total silence. Arriving in a bay at dawn, nobody on shore hears you.
Generators run only when they are needed and at their most efficient load. Fuel use falls by a quarter.

The system is built around two electric motors on the propeller shafts, which also work as generators when the diesels run.
Heat from the engines warms the pool and the guest showers. Nothing is wasted.
On the H72, the silent hour became the most requested feature of all.
