Fourteen days off Elba

Speed runs, crash stops and a night at anchor: how we hand over a yacht.

Sea trials last fourteen days. The first week is ours: speed runs at full load, crash stops from 20 knots, steering at every angle.

We measure noise in every cabin at cruising speed. The target in the owner’s suite is 45 decibels — a quiet library.

In the second week the owner’s captain and crew join us. Every system is opened, explained and run until they are bored of it.

“We do not sell a yacht until we have slept on it.”

On the last night the whole yard team sleeps on board at anchor off Portoferraio. If anyone hears a creak, we find it before breakfast.

Then the flag changes, the crew takes the helm and the yacht leaves Viareggio on her own.

We follow her for two years with a warranty team that flies wherever she is.
