What goes
inside the frame

We fit prescription and plano lenses in-house. This page explains the choices in plain language, so you are not deciding by price alone.

Lens options

Single vision, standard indexFor most prescriptions up to ±4.00. Thickest of the three, and perfectly fine in a smaller frame.

Single vision, high index 1.67About 30% thinner at the edge. Worth it above ±4.00 or in a large frame where thickness shows.

ProgressiveDistance, intermediate and reading in one lens. Takes a week or two to adapt — that is normal, not a fitting error.

Blue light filterCuts part of the 415–455 nm range. Honest note: the evidence for eye strain relief is thin. Some people like it, some see a faint yellow cast.

PhotochromicDarkens outdoors in about 30 seconds, clears in three minutes. Barely reacts behind a car windscreen.

Anti-reflective coatingOn every lens we sell, at no charge. Without it you get halos at night and your eyes disappear in photographs.

How ordering works

Pick a frame

Order it plain, or send your prescription at checkout — a photo of the paper is enough.

We check it

An optician reads it and emails you if something looks off. This catches maybe one order in twenty.

Lenses cut

Edged to your frame in Oslo. Five working days for single vision, eight for progressive.

Shipped

Tracked, with a hard case and a cloth. If the fit is wrong, we redo the lenses free within 60 days.

Questions we get

Can you use my old prescription?

If it is under two years old, yes. Older than that and we will ask for a fresh one — eyes change, and a wrong lens is an expensive mistake to discover at home.

What is a PD and where do I find it?

Pupillary distance, the gap between your pupils in millimetres. It is often on the prescription. If not, measure it with a ruler in a mirror or send a photo holding a card to your forehead — we will do it for you.

Do you do sunglasses?

Any frame can take tinted lenses, prescription or not. Add €60 for a solid tint, €120 for polarised.

My last progressives never felt right

Usually a fitting height problem, not the lens. Send us the old pair and the new prescription — we measure from your photo and remake at our cost if we get it wrong.

Can I bring the frame to my own optician?

Yes, and we will not void the warranty for it. The frame is yours.
