03 — Works

Eight we would
show first.

Seventy-four finished since 2015; these are the ones that explain how we work. Every project below was drawn here and watched being built by the person who drew it.

A quiet living room with a large window
Fig. 01

Casa Aveleda

Interiors · 2024

A family house emptied back to its walls. One long room facing south, oak wherever a hand lands, lime plaster that shifts colour through the day. 210 m², eleven months.

A gravel path through tall ornamental grasses
Fig. 02

Quinta do Vale

Garden · 2025

Eleven hundred square metres of dry slope above the Douro, replanted with grasses and natives that hold shape from March to December on no irrigation after the second summer.

A rooftop garden with planters and a wooden pergola
Fig. 03

Terraço Bonfim

Roof terrace · 2024

A flat roof over the river turned into the room the flat never had: a pergola sized to the shadow it casts in July, planters deep enough for small trees, and a floor that drains.

A bathroom in stone tile with a wooden vanity
Fig. 04

Banho Lousã

2023

One bathroom, six months, local schist cut in three thicknesses. The client asked for calm; we took away a window and gave back a skylight.

A wooden table being finished by hand
Fig. 05

Mesa Valongo

2025

Three metres of solid oak for a family of six, on a base drawn so that nobody sits on a leg. Oiled twice, delivered through a window.

A patio with white furniture surrounded by planting
Fig. 06

Pátio Cedofeita

2021

Forty square metres between four walls, three of them somebody else's. Shade in the afternoon, one tree, a table of eight.

A concrete and timber house among trees
Fig. 07

Casa da Encosta

Renovation · 2022

A 1970s house taken back to its frame: new services, new windows, one wall removed and a terrace cut into the slope behind it. Eighteen months, and the longest tender we have run.

A dining room reflected in glass, looking out to a patio
Fig. 08

Sala Foz

Interiors · 2023

An apartment where the sea is visible from exactly one corner. Everything was arranged around keeping that corner empty, which took three attempts and one difficult conversation.

A house entrance with a stone wall and planting
Nothing here was styled for a photograph. It was all still in use the day we shot it.
