Will a 280 cm top warp?
Not if it is built properly. Long tops move across the grain with humidity, so we fit breadboard ends on elongated bolts that allow that movement instead of fighting it. Above 280 cm we add a central stretcher, which is included in the quote rather than charged separately.
Can I match an existing floor or cabinet?
Send a photograph in daylight and, if you can, a small offcut. We mix the finish to match and post you a sample board before starting. The sample costs nothing and is yours to keep.
What happens if it arrives damaged?
Freight is insured and photographed at the moment of crating. If a crate arrives damaged, photograph it before unpacking and we replace or repair at our cost. In six years it has happened four times.
How do I look after the oil finish?
Wipe with a damp cloth. Once a year, or when the surface starts to look thirsty, rub in a little of the oil we ship with the table. Unlike lacquer, an oiled top can be repaired in patches rather than refinished whole.
