SUNDRIFT started with one borrowed jeep and a very long sunset in Merzouga. Twelve years later we still plan every trip around that light.
We are drivers, mechanics and cooks who believe the desert should be seen slowly, in good light, and together — with people who grew up there.
Two friends, one borrowed jeep, Merzouga.
Atacama base opens in San Pedro.
Namibia permits and our own workshop.
Wadi Rum with the Zalabia families.
We pick routes for light, colour and silence — not for convenience.
Existing tracks only. Everything we bring in leaves with us.
Bedouin, Berber, Atacameño and Namibian partners on every route.
Six rules every guest signs and every driver lives by. They are why we have never left anyone behind.
Minimum two vehicles, always in sight of each other. The last car carries the mechanic.
A satellite check-in every hour on the hour. Miss two, and a support truck is already rolling.
Five litres per person per day, plus two days of reserve that nobody touches.
Above 40 °C we stop between noon and four. The desert will still be there at five.
In Wadi Rum we drive with Zalabia Bedouin families; in Namibia only with licensed permit holders.
Every bottle, cigarette end and tent peg leaves with us. We drive on existing tracks only.
