The artist
Teo Marrinsculptor, painter
He drew his first astronaut on a wall in the Bairro Alto in 2014. Twelve years later, one of them stepped off.

Teo trained as a classical sculptor in Porto and spent six years making plaster casts of saints for churches that could no longer afford marble. At night he painted astronauts on the shutters of shops that had closed.
The astronauts got famous before he did. People photographed them, then went looking for them, then started asking where they could buy one. COSMO is his answer: a wall drawing you can hold.
He still works alone, with two assistants who cast and pack, in a former cork warehouse on the river in Lisbon.
